Doll Baby Pageant winners announced

CRUCIBLE — The 14th Crucible Volunteer Fire Department Doll Baby Pageant was held on Saturday, Aug. 4 in the fire department’s social hall.

Nikki Panepinto of Carmichaels directed the pageant.

The Crucible Supreme title was won by 8-year-old Emma Childs, daughter of Jamie and John Childs from Carmichaels. Emma had the highest combined score in beauty and photogenic.

Other winners were:

n Rebecca Conklin, 15, daughter of Rhonda Wolfe and Monty Stewart from Nemacolin and Bruce Conklin from Vestaburg, won the Young Miss Crucible title and placed second in photogenic;

n Randi Cowger, 12, daughter of Hydi and Randy Cowger of Carmichaels, won the Young Miss Crucible photogenic title and placed first in beauty;

n Brittany Morgan, 13, daughter of Billie Jo and Lloyd Shaffer of Carmichaels placed first in photogenic and second in beauty;

n Ashley Carder, 15, daughter of Melody and Marvin Carder of Waynesburg, placed third in beauty and photogenic;

n MaKenna Corso, 8, daughter of Kendall Corso and Justin Connelly from Crucible, won the Little Miss Crucible and Little Miss Crucible photogenic titles;

n Addison Palko, 4, daughter of Melissa and Tom Palko from Jefferson, won the Tiny Miss Crucible title and placed first in photogenic;

n Breona Reda, 4, daughter of Karie Balash and Jeremy Reda of Masontown, won the Tiny Miss Crucible photogenic title and placed first in beauty;

n Mason Swartz, 16-month-old son of Sandy and Patrick Swartz of Carmichaels, won the Baby Mister Crucible and Baby Mister Crucible photogenic titles;

Additional awards included Ashley Carder, who won Crucible Covermodel title; Carder and Randi Cowger, who won the Crucible Princess title; and Breona Reda, who won the Early Entry Award.

Special helpers for the pageant included 2010 Crucible Supreme Kylee Myers, 2010 Little Miss Crucible Katlynn Fisher, 2010 Tiny Miss Crucible Bria Seaman, 2010 Mister Crucible Maddix Connelly, Kloee Connellly and Kayla Panepinto.

There was a special appearance by 2012 International Junior Miss Pennsylvania South Teen Breanna Shuckhart.

Next year’s pageant is scheduled for May. It is open to girls 16 months to 15 years old and boys 16 months to 9 years old from Greene, Fayette and Washington counties, and Morgantown, W.Va.
