Herald-Standard - Uniontown Newspapers, Inc., is an independent family-owned media company located in Fayette County, Southwestern PA. The newspaper traces its ancestry back to the Fayette Gazette and Union Advertiser which published its first edition on December 5th, 1797.

Our media company was purchased in part by the late Stanley W. Calkins in the 1930’s and has been family owned since that time. Calkins Media Inc. today owns five daily and one weekly newspaper in PA, one daily newspaper in NJ, one weekly newspaper in FL, two ABC affiliate television stations in FL and one in AL.

The Mission of the Herald-Standard and is To Provide News, Information and Services to Enable our Communities to Prosper. Our company takes pride in the services we provide. We currently reach over 168,000 readers in our local markets and surrounding markets.
