Newspaper carrier charged with alleged vandalism spree in Connellsville

CONNELLSVILLE -- A Tribune-Review newspaper carrier was charged with alleged crimes arising from a recent wave of vandalism within the city and Dunbar Township.

Charles Boyd Crouse and Illa Lorraine Blair, both of Mount Pleasant, were arraigned on various charges Monday afternoon by Magisterial District Court Judge Ronald Haggerty Jr. Charges are pending against two juveniles who were also allegedly involved in the vandalism spree that damaged more than 30 residences and vehicles in early July.

Police seek info about store robbery

State police are investigating an armed robbery Friday of a business in South Union Township.

Police said a man brandishing a pistol demanded money and cigarettes around 1:45 a.m. from the store clerk at the Sweet Peas Service Station located at 732 Morgantown Road.

State police have accused two former Fayette County teachers of possessing child pornography.

Police allege that after a search of Robert David Caldwell Sr. and his son Robert David Caldwell Jr.'s home in March 2014 at 103 Tyler Court, South Union Township, they discovered various types of child pornography including pictures and videos.

Dog attacked by pit bull has died

The little dog attacked Monday by a stray pit bull in Connellsville has passed away.

Norma Brown said her dog, Cookie, a Shih Tzu mixed-breed, died in her sleep early Tuesday morning at Geary Veterinary Clinic, where she was being treated following the brutal attack.
