A Dawson man is facing charges after police allege he sold marijuana to a confidential informant in a drug sting in Connellsville on Wednesday.
Fayette County Drug Task Force Detective Thomas Patton said Alvian Rhoades, 20, was charged before Magisterial District Judge Joseph M. George Jr. with possession with intent to deliver marijuana and two counts of possession of marijuana following the incident.
According to Patton, a confidential informant purchased a bag of marijuana from Rhoades in the parking lot of a Connellsville business for $50.
After the transaction, police stopped Rhoades vehicle and took him into custody without incident.
Patton said Rhoades admitted to selling the drugs.
George placed Rhoades in Fayette County Prison on $20,000 straight cash bond following his arraignment.
He will face a preliminary hearing at a later date before Magisterial District Judge Ronald J. Haggerty Jr.
