Officials said today that they do not suspect foul play in the death of a 6-month-old child at a home in Masontown early Wednesday.

Fayette County Coroner Dr. Phillip Reilly said that an autopsy conducted Wednesday on the body of Arianna Elizabeth Barton did not appear to indicate any type of foul play had been involved in her death and said that it appears the baby likely died from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. However, an official cause and manner of death remains pending further investigation.

District Attorney Jack R. Heneks Jr. said Barton was pronounced dead at Uniontown Hospital at 7:15 a.m., shortly after emergency personnel were summoned to the residence.
