A Uniontown man is behind bars after police allege he assaulted another man during a dispute at a Uniontown home Wednesday night.

Harold Steve Hyatt, 43, was charged before Magisterial District Judge Jesse J. Cramer with aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment following the incident inside a residence at 52 Bailey Ave.

Uniontown police officer Jason Fidazzo said the charges were filed after Hyatt got into an altercation with Jonathan Landman of Uniontown shortly after 10 p.m.

Fidazzo said that during the fight, Hyatt repeatedly slammed Landman's head into a wall causing Landman to have a seizure.

Landman was taken from the residence to Uniontown Hospital and subsequently was flown by medical helicopter to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va. for additional care, Fidazzo said.

Cramer placed Hyatt in Fayette County Prison on 10 percent of $7,500 straight cash bond following his arraignment.

He will face a preliminary hearing at a later date before Magisterial District Judge Michael M. Metros.
