State police issued an arrest warrant for a Connellsville man who allegedly assaulted a woman who was holding her baby during a home invasion Sunday.

Thomas Leroy Dean Jr., 25, of Narrows Hill Road is facing charges of burglary, criminal trespass, endangering the welfare of children, theft and two counts of simple assault.

The alleged victim has a protection-from-abuse order against Dean, which prevents him from contacting her and coming to her address. She reported to police Dean began pounding on her door at about 3 a.m. When she refused to answer the door, he allegedly forced his way inside through a window. While holding her 7-month-old baby, she reportedly tried to push the window shut, police said. Dean allegedly grabbed her by the hair and slammed her head against the window. She suffered a cut to her head, and the baby boy suffered a minor injury to his forehead, according to court documents.

Dean allegedly stole $100 and the key to the woman’s vehicle.

Charges were filed Sunday before Magisterial District Judge Richard A. Kasunic.
