The Southwestern Pennsylvania Sheep and Goat Workshop will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Feb. 20 at the Washington County Fairgrounds, with registration beginning at 9 a.m.
The morning speakers are from the Appalachian Farming Research Center near Beckley, W.Va. This workshop will feature topics of finishing lambs and kids on pasture, non-traditional forages, silvopasture, controlling barber pole worms and livestock mortality composting.
The Southwestern Pennsylvania Sheep and Goat Workshop is an educational opportunity for new and experienced producers alike and will provide a chance to catch up on the latest items that affect flocks and farms.
There is a registration per person that includes lunch, refreshments and handout materials. The registration deadline is Feb. 15.
