Barbara Ann Cavalcante of Merrittstown vacationed in Dover, Ohio, and Deep Creek, Md. She also visited the Italian Festival and Wheeling Island in West Virginia. Barbara is retired from Sensus of Uniontown, formerly Rockwell, after 26 years of service.
The Fayette County Fair will hold Senior Citizen Day Wednesday.
The senior citizen contests will be conducted at 1 p.m. in the Fiddler's Building in conjunction with the Fayette County Fair.
Participants must be at least 55 years of age and be present and registered prior to the start of the contests.
Trophies and ribbons will be awarded.
Categories include, couple married the longest, cake walk, spelling bee, most great grandchildren, cookie stack, best female figure, best male legs, the most senior male and female largest group attending, scavenger hunt and money guess.
Highlighting the day will be the crowning of a king and queen, special musical entertainment and an ice cream social.
Admission to the fair is free for anyone age 62 and older until 2 p.m. Identification is required.
Senior citizen admission does not include carnival and outdoor arena, upgrades are available at the fair office.
