Behind a 20-kill performance from Bridget Bielich, the Vulcans defeated Wheeling Jesuit 3-1 Friday at Hamer Hall to advance to the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championship for the fourth straight year. California hosted Lock Haven in the regional final Saturday night.

The Vulcans (35-5) opened with a 25-23 victory in the first set before dropping the next set, 25-22. California rebounded with victories of 25-14 and 25-23 to secure the win.

Joanna Nist had 15 kills and Ludmila Amaral added 13 kills.

Wheeling Jesuit finishes the season with a 36-6 record.

Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) 72, Point Park 62 - Point Park junior guard Eric Johnson came off the bench to score 21 points and grab nine rebounds in a loss to Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) Friday.

The Uniontown graduate scored 16 of his points in the second half and his 21 points are a career high. Point Park (2-4) trailed by 19 points in the second half but cut the lead to three late in the game. However, a 16-2 run by Trevecca Nazarene (5-0) secured the win.

Buffalo 78, Towson 69 - The University of Buffalo picked up its second consecutive road win of the season with a victory over Towson Saturday.

Albert Gallatin product Jawaan Alston scored 11 points among four Buffalo players to reach double figures. Rodney Pierce led the way for the Bulls (2-1) with 18 points, Calvin Betts scored 14 points along with 10 rebounds and Mitchell Watt chipped in with 12 points.

Towson (1-1) led by 6 at the half after posting an 11-point win over Miami (OH) until the Buffalo opened the second half with an 11-0 run.

Bloomfield (N.J.) 94, California (Pa.) 66 - Kelsey Williams and Andrew Young combined for 30 points, but it wasn't enough as the Vulcans fell to Bloomfield in the Alaska Invitational, hosted by Alaska Fairbanks.

Young scored a team-high 16 points as Williams scored 14 and grabbed five rebounds for California (0-1).

The Deacons (1-0) led 43-29 at the half and opened the second half on a 14-4 run to increase the lead to 24 points. Gage Daye led Bloomfield with 35 points.

Saint Vincent 80, Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus 47 - Mike Watkins scored a game-high 23 points and BJ McGill added 17 as the Bearcats defeated Penn State Fayette.

The Bearcats (2-1) opened the game with an 11-3 run en route to their 27th consecutive win at home. David Winns led the Roaring Lions (0-4) with 12 points and Jonathan Eicher added 10 along with eight rebounds.

La Roche 58, Waynesburg 46 - Waynesburg was unable to overcome cold shooting in the first half in a loss to La Roche at the Crons Classic.

The Yellow Jackets (0-2) shot 25 percent in the first half and trailed 26-15 at the break. LaRoche (3-0), on the other hand, shot 50 percent in the first half.

Three Redhawks scored in double digits, including Dylan Grazier, who scored a game-high 14 points.

Steven Iser led Waynesburg with 11 points and seven rebounds.

Apprentice School 81, Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus 39 - Kayla Hatfield led Penn State Fayette with 18 points and six rebounds, but the Builders built a 45-17 lead at the half and never looked back.

Apprentice School (2-1) shot 54 percent from the field in the first half and 50 percent in the second to build a sizeable lead. Tyisha Battle led all scorers with 14 points and Shameka Warren added 12. Tamara Davis also broke double figures with 11 points and nine rebounds.

Nicole Garrity led Penn State Fayette (0-4) with seven rebounds.

Otterbein 65, Waynesburg 53 - Otterbein had three players score in double digits in its win over Waynesburg in the consolation game of the Adrian Tip-Off Tournament in Adrian, Michigan Saturday.

Hannah Hunter led the Jackets (0-2) with a game-high 20 points along with five steals and four assists.

Otterbein (1-1) held a 45-29 advantage in rebounds. Allison Huettel scored 10 points and had 14 boards.

Waynesburg returns to action Nov. 30 for a road game at Penn State-Greater Allegheny at 7 p.m.

California (Pa.) 74, Charleston (W.Va.) 72 - Brooque Williams scored a game-high 23 points and grabbed seven boards as the Vulcans treated the home crowd to a win in the second day of the Cal U Classic.

Kayla Smith registered a double-double, scoring 11 points and grabbing 16 rebound while dishing out four assists. Amy Johns added 18 points, seven boards and four assists for the Vulcans.

California (2-0) held a 22-6 advantage in fast-break points but only led by four at the half and led by as much as 15 points.

Kaitlyn Arick led Charleston (1-2) with 20 points. Ali Tobias scored 18 points, while Tarenna Dixon scored 10 points and pulled down 12 rebounds.

California (Pa.) 2, Indiana (Pa.) 0 - Freshman Kayla Fransko broke the stalemate and senior Amanda Heister added an insurance goal in the second half to give No. 23 California a victory over IUP and the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Championship on Friday.

The Vulcans advanced to the national quarterfinals and faces No. 2 Saint Rose (N.Y.) today at 1 p.m. on the campus of Siena in Loundonville, N.Y. St. Rose is 23-0-0 and defeated No. 20 Franklin Pierce to advance to the quarterfinal round.
