REPUBLIC — Behind the one-hit pitching of Jeremy Molinaro, Pasta Lorenzo (6-17-3) evened its Fayette County Baseball League playoff series on Friday with a 4-0 win over G.K. Realty (13-11-2). Molinaro struck out 11 batters, while his teammates played perfect defense.

Ken Musko doubled to drive in Todd Chesla in the first inning for the only run Molinaro would need. Musko also scored in the sixth inning on a two-run double by Jim Cales.

Bobby Madison had the only hit off Molinaro, a solid single up the middle in the fourth inning. Ryan Craft took the pitching loss for G.K. Realty.

The deciding game of the best-of-3 quarterfinal series will be played at 7 p.m. on Sunday at the Hutchinson Sportsmen’s Field in Hopwood.

The team had even more to celebrate Friday when a bases-loaded walk to Jeremy Miller in the bottom of the eighth inning allowed Mill Run to edge Mitch’s Bail Bonds, 3-2, to keep its Fayette County Baseball League season alive and even the playoff series at one game apiece.

“This was a tough loss. We were on the other end of a game like this a couple of days ago,” Mitch’s manager Ryan Encapera said. “We had some runners on base in scoring position a couple of times but we couldn’t come through, driving the runs in. We hit the ball hard but they made the plays and took care of business.”

The deciding game three in the series will be played at 4 p.m. Sunday in Charleroi.
