The snowsports resorts of Stowe Mountain, Smugglers' Notch, Mount Snow, Plattekill Mountain and Labrador Mountain are positioned to get plenty of natural snow, and, as a backup, they have great snowmaking abilities.

Northern Vermont's Stowe Mountain Resort's recent mountain makeover, consisting of new lifts, snowmaking and a transfer gondola connecting two mountains, is just part of the vast improvements made at this resort.

At the core of this resurgence is Spruce Peak, the sibling mountain to Mount Mansfield, Vermont's highest point.

In short, Stowe ski and board facilities have under gone major improvements. Stowe has always been the Statue of Liberty in the world of snowsports and continues that tradition to this day. Its slopes and trails are fantastic.

Smugglers' Notch Resort has been recognized for its family programs for the 11th year by Ski Magazine readers. It offers a value-laden package for skiers and snowboarders for the 2009-2010 season. Smugglers' Advantage packages include lodging, lift tickets, instruction for all ages and abilities, and off- slope entertainment programs for children and adults. Smugglers' Notch is one of the best mountains in the Northeast to ski. Smugglers' Notch Resort in Northern Vermont is America's honor to snowsports fun.

Mount Snow Resort received recognition for its Carinthia Section of the resort by Transworld Snowboarding Magazine. A readers pool voted Mount Snow the No. 1 terrain park in the East, and the No. 2 halfpipe in the East. The resort, located in Southern Vermont, has tremendously improved all its facilities over the years -- from snowmaking, to lodging, and more. This resort is a leader in the snowboarding sport for facilities and is nationally known for their quality. They also cater from A to Z for all the needs of the ski vacation family.

New York's Plattekill Mountain is a family ski area run by a family. It has 1,100 feet of vertical drop and true mountain hospitality, with 35 exciting trails. Situated in the northern Catskills, this resort has two-mile beginner runs and wide intermediate groomed cruisers, with something for everyone. This is a very historical resort in the great tradition of snowsports fun, and they have plenty of lift power and snowmaking to be people pleasers.

Labrador Mountain in Central New York is in a great snowbelt.

It offers three skiing peaks, 22 slopes and trails upon 250 acres with a 700-foot vertical drop. The mountain is served by three chairlifts, two surface lifts, and a T-bar lift.

At night, the resort provides 14 lighted trails for night skiing for their ski and snowboard guests. I has a wonderful terrain park and centrally located base facilities.

Overall, it's another plus to this Central New York ski mecca.

So ,have fun, and happy trails.
