The American Legion LaFayette Post 51 is hosting this year’s Veterans Day Parade on Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. in downtown Uniontown.

Participants will stop at Storey Square at 11:11 a.m., when taps will be played.

Lineup begins at 9 a.m., with marchers staging on East Church Street between Marshall Park and Marshall Manor; Jefferson Street; Iowa Street; and East South Street.

Buses can drop off marching bands and Junior ROTC members in the parking lot of St. John the Evangelist Church, 50 Jefferson St. After the parade, buses can pick up those students in the parking lot of St. Mary (Nativity) Church, 61 N. Mount Vernon Ave.

Bands will line up between Marshall Park and Marshall Manor, and JROTC members will line up in the parking lot of the Uniontown Public Library.

Fire and rescue vehicles will line up on Iowa Street. All other organizations should form three lanes on East Church Street or East South Street.

Any veterans who want to walk in the parade should meet in Marshall Park.

No all-terrain vehicles or side-by-sides can participate without prior permission from the Uniontown Police Department. Horses are not permitted to participate, and there is to be no political messaging displayed during the parade.

After the parade the Legion, 508 E. Main St., Uniontown, is open for socializing.
