The Brownsville Area Ministerial Association’s Food For Falcons food program is collecting fruit snack/fruit roll-ups, Chapstick, and macaroni and cheese bowls during the months of January and February. There will be a donation area in each participating BAMA church.
Stepping Stones Bereavement Support will begin the spring program on Monday, March 2, at 7 p.m. Meetings are held at Third Presbyterian Church, 425 Union St., Uniontown. The program is open to newly bereaved persons as well as those still dealing with a loss. There is no cost to participate. Articles and DVDs are used; conversation is encouraged, but not required. The BAMA meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 13 will be at 10 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Hall, 118 Church St., Brownsville.
The Masontown Community Kitchen will be serving soup and sandwiches with homemade desserts, and bread on Tuesday, Jan. 13 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Located at First Presbyterian Church, 102 W. Church Ave., Masontown, meals are provided without charge. Donations are accepted and help to provide for future meals. The St. Vincent de Paul-sponsored food bank will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 21 from 11 a.m. to noon at the parking lot of the St. Mary’s Social Hall, 118 Church St., Brownsville. Families must be registered with Fayette County Community Action Agency in order to receive food.
The BAMA-supported service for Prayer for Christian Unity will be held on Thursday, Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. at Pleasant View Presbyterian Church, 533 Royal Road, Smock. The public is invited. The snow date is Thursday, Jan. 29.
Help is needed with unloading the food bank truck at the First Christian Church, 512 Second St., Brownsville on Friday, Jan. 23 at 9 a.m. The food bank is on Saturday, Jan. 24 from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
Pleasant View Presbyterian Church in Smock is sponsoring “Loads of Love” at the Mod Laundromat, 503 Union St., Brownsville on Sunday, Jan. 25 from 1 to 4 p.m. Those who need help paying for laundry costs are invited to do their laundry at this time.
The Uniontown Amateur Radio Club holds its meetings on the first and third Wednesdays of every month at 7 p.m. at the club building, 433 Old Pittsburgh Road, Uniontown.
