Preschool story hour
Preschool story hour will begin in January 2012 at the German-Masontown Library. There is no charge. Two retired school teachers, Judy Bogozi and Donna Parish, will conduct the sessions, which will take place from noon until 1 p.m. every other Tuesday.
Children should be at least 3 years old. Please register your child at the library, now located on Main Street, by Dec. 15. The story hour class size is limited to 12.
Children’s Christmas party
The annual combined Pal’s Club and Auxiliary Children’s Christmas party will be held Dec. 17 at 1 p.m. in the club social hall. Treats and refreshments will be furnished to club members’ children. Santa Clause will be in attendance. The Pal’s Club president is Bruce Plaski and the auxiliary president is Betsy Kopacko.
Winter choral concert
The Albert Gallatin High School Choral Department has moved its annual winter choral concert to Monday at 7:00 pm in the high school auditorium. This change was made in order to help alleviate several minor scheduling conflicts and to allow choral students to perform at the Light – Up Night (Home for the Holidays) event in Uniontown.

Come play the Wii with us on Tuesdays from 3:30 to 5 pm. The program focuses on playing one or several video games on the Nintendo Wii and is designed to encourage interaction between teens, adults, seniors and technology. We’ll be having a tournament between our participants and an inter-district tournament between German-Masontown and other neighboring libraries.
Stitch a bit will begin at the library on Jan. 5, 2012, at 3:30pm. If you don’t know how to knit, the library director is happy to teach you. If you know how to crochet, share your artistic talent with us. Please see the library’s website or a staff member at the library for a small list of necessary materials.
The German-Masontown Public Library Gazette online newsletter is now available for viewing at http://germaslibrary.blogspot.com/ In this newsletter you’ll find information about one-time and on going programs, special events, the newest books available at the library, recipes from the librarians, photographs from our programs, occasional technology tips, and information about events in the surrounding communities.
Do you love the library? Why not show it? Help the library by donating to our Dollar Drive this holiday season.
If every person in the Albert Gallatin Area School District donated just $1 or more to the library we could meet our fundraising goal for 2011. You may participate by stopping by the library to leave your donation or you may mail your donation to 104 S. Main St., Masontown, PA 15461. Your donation in any amount is greatly appreciated.
