Belated birthday
Happy belated birthday to Jan Huntley Zarella, who celebrated her birthday Dec. 17. Jan and her husband, Jeff, have one son, Jefferson, 10, who is a student at Plava Elementary.
Senior news
The Masontown Senior Citizens enjoy cards and bingo daily and have begun an exercise class on Mondays and Thursdays. The group plays Wii Bowling daily and free blood pressure checks are available on the first and third Wednesday of every month.
Dave Townsend entertained members at the Christmas dinner program Dec. 14. And the All Saints Children’s Choir will be performing at 10 a.m. Monday. A Christmas movie with popcorn will be featured Tuesday.
Congratulations to the fall Wii tournament winners Clara Andrews, Jenny Ebner, Ed Provance and Bucky Shaffer.
EMS will join the group Jan. 4 for an educational program. Prime Time will present “12 Tips for a Healthier 2012” Jan. 10 and balloon darts will be held Jan. 11 and 25. Friday the 13th is Fannie Mae Birthday recognition, and Martin Luther King Remembrance and Senior Life is scheduled for Jan. 17. The 18th will feature an indoor picnic, and Women’s History Month will be celebrated Jan. 19. Come and learn a new Wii game Jan. 24 and enjoy a tea party on the 26th and Bible study on the 30. Round out the month with popcorn and a movie on the 31st and a birthday celebration.

Community Kitchen
The next Masontown Community Kitchen meal will be held Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church. Christmas will be celebrated with the menu being baked ham, mashed potatoes, vegetables, applesauce, Panera breads and desserts.
The public is invited to attend and participate in the holiday meal and fellowship. The meals are free to anyone in need, but donations are gratefully welcomed and accepted.

Florida Gulf Coast University announces the graduation of Matthew Charles Hoover with a bachelor of science degree with a major in resort and hospitality management and bachelor of science degree with a major in professional golf management. He is the son of Chuck and Debbie Hoover of Uniontown, formerly of Masontown.
