At the Mountian Citizen Action Group, the passing of Dick Fitzpatrick is deeply felt. In addition to his friendly smile and cheery greetings, Dick volunteered in various capacities for almost 20 years.
The group was pleased that Faye Ritchey has now joined on Thursdays.
This past Tuesday, 13 members of the MCAG traveled by bus to McMurray, where the senior games were held.
Five MCAG women will travel via bus to Greensburg on Tuesday, where they will attend a buffet dinner and a performance by Englebert Humperdink at the Palace Theater. Pat Lin, Lois Mattay, Minnie Mitchell, Shirley Schumm and Beulah Thomas plan on having great time.
The monthly meeting will be held Thursday. President Dolores Dixon is hoping it will be well-attended.
On June 30, June birthdays and July 4 will be celebrated. Remember to wear patriotic colors that day.

Guest speaker
Carol Ashton of Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers will be the speaker at the 11 a.m. service at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Dinnerbell-Five Forks Road, Farmington. The public is invited.
Retiring
Mountain teachers retiring this year are Bo Clay, Doug Lowe and Margaret Smalley from A.J. McMullen School and Joe Everhart from Wharton School. Their long-standing dedication has been appreciated, and they will be missed.
College graduate
Lauren Michelle Thomas, daughter of Randy and Kim Thomas of Uniontown, graduated recently from the University of Texas in San Antonio, where she now resides.
Attending her graduation in addition to her parents were her grandmothers, Beulah Thomas of Farmington and Goldie Clark of Uniontown, and her aunt, Dolores Clark of Uniontown.
While in Texas, the group toured The River Walk and The Alamo.
Recent visit
Former Markleysburg residents Anetta and David Hall, now of Montana, recently visited their daughter, Hannah, stationed in Colorado Springs, Colo. She is scheduled to be deployed to Afghanistan later this year.

Today is the 16th birthday of Wyatt Hess of Markleysburg. He will be a junior at Uniontown Area High School in the fall.
Florence Fike VanSickle Leighty, born 2/22/22, is going to celebrate her almost 90th birthday June 26. She is a Flatrock Road, Markleysburg, resident.
