n Dec. 3 and 4 — An old-fashioned frontier Christmas, Sampey Park. Show times are Saturday at 2 and 6 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Gettysburg historian Ken Williams will relate authentic Christmas stories of the Civil War, followed by a musical program. Pierogie sale

St. John’s Altar Society of Perryopolis will sell potato and cheese pierogies for Christmas. The cost is $6 per dozen (frozen). Orders can be placed by calling 724-736-4032 or 724-736-2036. Pick-up date will be Saturday, Dec. 3, from 9 to 11:30 a.m.

Light Up Night

Perryopolis will hold their annual Christmas tree lighting Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. The community tree is next to the parking lot of the United Methodist Church on Independence Street. Following the tree lighting, the Scottdale Choral Society will present a concert inside the church. The public is invited and light refreshments will be available in the social room after the concert.

Grandson

Joseph and Paulette Nick would like to announce the birth of their first grandchild, a boy named Elliot Lee Nick, born on Nov. 6. Joe is a member of the Frazier class of 1965.

Golden Agers

Tickets for the Golden Agers Christmas party will be available at the Perryopolis Senior Center Nov. 21, 28 and Dec. 5. The party will be held Dec. 13 at the center.

Pies

The ladies of the Perryopolis United Methodist Church are baking pies for Thanksgiving. To order a pie, call Jean White today at 724-736-8854. Pies will be baked on Tuesday and you may pick them up at the church. The usual assortment is available: apple, pumpkin, raisin and minced meat.

Flower Club

The Perryopolis Flower Club met on Nov. 16 and elected the following officers for 2012: Eleanor Morris, president; Sonya McGavitt, vice president; Amy Girasia secretary; Dianne Clausner, treasurer; Helen Svec, sunshine and phone; and Ruth Shields, publicity. The club will have their Christmas party in December and then meet again in March to plan spring plantings. New members are welcome. Talk to one of the club members for more information.

Vendor show

The Greater Rostraver Chamber of Commerce will host a vendor show Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Rostraver Public Library. Admission is free and the show is open to the public. GRC member vendors will be featured: Tastefully Simple, Pampered Chef, Jewel Kade Jewelry, Stella & Dot, Scentsy Wickless Candles, Katy’s Candles, Sew Sassy by Ashley.
