Events scheduled

The Shannopin Civic Club will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday in the hall with president Juanita Cettin presiding. All are to note the time for this meeting and date.

United Methodist Women of the Bobtown Church will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Bible Study will precede the business. All are to note the time for the meeting.

A hunter’s breakfast will be held at the Civic Club Hall in Bobtown Nov. 28. More information will be made available.

Council meets

Following a soldout soup sale day at the Bobtown Methodist Church, a meeting of the administrative council was held with co-chairma, Marie Ellenberger presiding over the business.

Pastor Gale Cobb opened the meeting with prayer.

It was voted upon that Melinda Williams will be in charge of the sale of the church parsonage.

Orders are now being taken for a hoagie sale, with the deadline being Tuesday and the delivery date Oct. 28.

The Angel Tree project will be observed again this holiday with committee of Helen Bittinger, Kitty Friend and Linda elites.

The program of the Hanging of the Greens will be held Nov. 27 at the worship service. Margaret Vincie and Shirley Gasti will be in charge of this program.

Renovations are being made at the grounds of the church, which includes the cementing of the front parking lot, the construction of the front flower bed plus the beautification of the prayer sign in the front lawn of the church. Cement handicap parking will be made available as well as a cement entrance to the handicap ramp.

Council will meet following the soup sale day Nov. 5. All orders for the soup will be as organizations first, standing orders and pre-orders as they are received.
