Borough cleanup
The Borough of Perryopolis will allow burning on every Saturday in October and November. Burn hours are dawn to dusk. This will allow for the cleanup of fall leaves, twigs and other small organic lawn debris.
Trick or Treat
Trick or Treat hours in Perry Township will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Halloween night. The Perryopolis Halloween parade will be held in the town circle at 6 p.m.
Trick or Treat in the Borough of Perryopolis will be held after the parade from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Turn on your porch light if you have treats for the participants.
First Christian
The Perryopolis First Christian Church celebrated its 125th anniversary Oct. 8. A dinner was held at the Family Life Center with approximately 100 people attending. Barbara Ferguson gave a brief history of the church and the following women were honored for their life-long devotion and commitment to the church: Eleanor Sayre, Betty Sager, June Rolison, Elsie Ries, Margaret Hazy, Leona Green and Virginia Brooks.
The Rev. Jack Sullivan, newly appointed regional minister, attended and the Rev. Ed Arbogast gave the blessing and a thanks to all those who participated.
Fairview Methodist
Fairview United Methodist Church on Laureldale Road in Grindstone will hold its annual turkey supper on Nov. 5 from 4 to 7 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children. They can be purchased from any church member or at the door. The menu includes turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, rolls, cole slaw, applesauce, dessert and a beverage. King and queen
Gladys and Willis Franks, formerly of Uniontown and now living in a retirement village in Fox Chapel, were named king and queen of the Fox Chapel High School homecoming on Oct. 14.
