Activities Scheduled for Methodist Church
Following another sellout soup sale day at the Bobtown United Methodist Church on Saturday, many activities have been scheduled for the remainder of the year.
During the business meeting of the administrative board, donations were made to the Greene County Arc, Bobtown Fire Department and local issues of the church.
It was approved to have a memorial Christmas tree in town. The tree will be decorated with pictures, ornaments and mementos of remembrance of a deceased loved one or in honor of someone in the town. All items should be sent to Arnold Friend at P.O. Box 172, Bobtown no later than Nov. 30.
Other items discussed at the meeting included:
n Frank Craig was selected to serve on the 2015 trustee list.
n Poinsettias will again be purchased and placed in the church for the holidays by giving names and a donation to Margaret Vincie.
n The program of the “Hanging of the Greens” will be featured at the Nov. 25 worship service.
n Caroling and the Christmas party will be held at 4 p.m. Dec. 2. Any person wishing to receive a gift should bring a gift.
n A box will be placed in the post office for names of those to be given an appreciation gift. The committee has been appointed to be in charge of this activity.
n The soup sale day in December will include freshly baked Christmas cookies.
The meeting ended with a prayer from Pastor Cobb and all being thanked for their efforts for the successful soup sale.
