AG registration set

April 29 — George J. Plava, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

May 1 — Friendship Hill, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

May 2 — D. Ferd Swaney, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Health fair

April 25 — Albert Gallatin School District health fair, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Albert Gallatin North Middle School in McClellandtown. Donated door prizes will be awarded every 15 minutes. The event is free and open to all district students, their families and members of the community.

Bingo/card party

April 21 — All Saints Church Planning Committee bingo/card party for seniors, 2 p.m. at the All Saints School cafeteria. There is a fee for admission, which includes a light luncheon. There is a fee per card to play bingo and the winner takes all in each game. A sign-up sheet will be placed in the back of the church, and the deadline to register is Monday. Reservations can be made by calling Kathy Packroni at 724-583-7429.

Committee meeting

Monday — All Saints Church planning committee meeting, 7 p.m. Any member of the parish is welcome to attend and give your input on planning both spiritual and social activities of the parish.

Friends of Library to meet

Wednesday — Friends of the German-Masontown Library meeting, 1 p.m. in the conference room of the library. Various activities and possible fundraisers will be discussed. Following the meeting a celebration of the anniversary of the Friends of the German-Masontown Library will be held with light refreshments and birthday cake. Three charter members and founders of the friends, Wilma Brand, Louise Durinzi and Leroy Erhard, will be recognized. Maxine Allison and Margaret Patterson are in charge of refreshments.

T-shirt sale planned

All Friends of the German-Masontown Library members can order a Friends of the Library T-shirt. The color is deep mauve and has a friends insignia on the left side of the shirt. There is one price for small, medium, large and x-large T-shirts and an up-charge for XXL and XXXL T-shirts. Orders can be placed and the shirts can be viewed at the library. All orders must be prepaid.

Albert Gallatin Regatta

May 25 and 26 — The 34th annual Albert Gallatin Regatta will be held at the Point Marion Community Park. Festivities begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday with a patriotic tribute to area veterans at Evergreen Cemetery and end Sunday evening with a spectacular fireworks display. Other events include a kayak paddle on the Monongahela River from Point Marion to Greensboro, Civil War re-enactors, a classic car show and a 5K run. Blood drive scheduled

May 11 — Blood drive in memory of Lou “Chief” DeFrank from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Footedale Volunteer Fire Department Social Hall, 501 Footedale Road, New Salem. Masontown Seniors

May 17 — Masontown Senior Center will host “Wii” District Bowling Tournament.

May 21 — Senior Life Bingo.

May 22 — Depression screening with Joe J.

May 29 — Older American Dinner.

Members will celebrate Mother’s Day, travel to a new virtual destination, enjoy a birthday bash, bunco and memorializing past members. Fundraisers for the month include tickets for a new Ford Escape, a Pittsburgh Penguins jacket, breakfast on Wednesday morning and alternative lunch on Thursday.

Italian Ladies Circle

May 7 — Italian Ladies Circle meeting, 6 p.m. at Meloni’s Restaurant. This meeting will replace the May 2 meeting and the Christmas party. All reservations must be made by April 23.

Community Kitchen

Tuesday — Masontown Community Kitchen meal, 4 to 6:30 p.m., First Presbyterian Church, 102 W. Church Ave. The menu will feature ham and bean soup with homemade cornbread, Panera breads and desserts. The kitchen is funded through contributions collected from those attending meals and by the local churches and individuals who donated to the mission. Anyone wanting more information or to volunteer at the soup kitchen can call Kathy West at 724-583-9514 or Judy Julian at 724-943-3013.

Mt. Moriah Christian School

The school is accepting applications for the 2013-2014 school year. Mt. Moriah Christian School offers: Preschool through sixth grade, certified teachers with teaching degrees and busing from five school districts. German-Masontown Library

As part of National Library Week, which runs through April 20, the German-Masontown Public library is offering fine amnesty during the week. Anyone who brings in their overdue items during this week will have their fines erased.

Tuesday — Preschool storytime at 10:30 a.m.

Tuesdays and Thursdays — GED class at 1 p.m. (Preregistration required.)

Tuesdays — Computer class at 1 p.m. (Preregistration required.)

Wednesdays — Knit-a-Bit at 3:30 p.m.

Correction

May 19 — Crop Walk. Registration will begin at 12:45 p.m. at the small pavilion at the German-Masontown Park. The walk will start at 1:30 p.m. For more information or to pick up donation materials, call 724-583-7073.
