Mary Traynor and Kristen Fuller, granddaughter of Connie and Roy Fuller, celebrate birthdays today. Johnathan Carson turns 21. He was born at the home of his grandparents, Robert and Sarah Toth, on a cold snowy Groundhog Day in 1992.

n At 1 p.m. on Feb.12: Golden Agers at the Senior Center will be held. All seniors are invited to attend. If you wish to eat lunch at the center before the meeting, please call on Monday to reserve your spot.
n At 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 23: A chili cook-off will be held at the Sons of Italy. There is a cost for admission. Cash prizes will be awarded. If you would like to enter your favorite chili recipe, contact Chrissy at 412-760-8518 to register and for more information.
n From 2 to 5 p.m. on March 3: Bunco at the Library will take place. Reserve your seat for a fun afternoon. All proceeds benefit the Frazier Community Library. A donation is requested. Call 724-736-8480 for tickets and information.
The Perryopolis Senior Center needs volunteer drivers for their homebound meals program. Please call the center at 724-736-2250 to volunteer.
Free Tai Chi classes on Saturday at the borough building. Call Sue Daniels 724-736-4076 to attend. Registration is requested but not required.
Bicentennial fundraising calendars are for sale. Each month features a different historical building and is available for purchase at local merchants.
Youth Wrestling
Frazier Youth Wrestling attended South Fayette Lion-Heart Classic Wrestling Tournament on Jan. 19 and 20.
Saturday at the Novice Tournament, Rune Lawrence took first. Dailan McManus, Jonah Erdely and Brian Gardner took fourth.
Sunday at the open tournament, Thayne Lawrence and Rune Lawrence brought home first place. Jake Thomas took second, and Harry Johnson took third.
Girls Softball
The Perryopolis Girls Softball Association will hold spring registration for Slow/Fast Pitch from 10 a.m. to noon on Feb. 2 and Feb. 16 at the Perryopolis Borough Building. Any new player must bring a copy of their birth certificate. There is a cost to register. The registration fee may be reduced with a refund after completing concession duty. Fish Fry
The St. John’s Altar Society of Perryopolis will be hold a fish fry every Friday during Lent, including Feb. 15, Feb. 22, March 1, March 9, March 15 and March 22, at the social center. There will not be a fish fry on Good Friday, March 29.
Fish platters, fish sandwiches, pierogies and sides can be purchased.
Dine-in or carry-out from noon until 6 p.m. Please bring your own containers for carry-out. Walk-ins are welcomed, but advanced orders can be placed by calling 724-736-2036 or 724-736-4032 and on Fridays please call 724-366-9038.
Golden Age Travel
The Golden Age Travel Club will spend the day at Rivers Casino on Feb. 20. The price of the trip includes bus transportation from the Sons of Italy parking lot at 8:15 a.m. and departing the casino at 4 p.m. for the trip home. For more information, call Dee at 724-736-2909.
