AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY UNIT 51 changed its meeting date to 6 p.m. June 17 at the post home. Nominations and election of officers will be held.
FAYETTE COUNTY AMERICAN LEGION COMMITTEE will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Post 499 in Point Marion. Commander Miller is requesting as many members from each post attend this meeting. Also, 2014 membership cards will be available for the posts.
PRODUCE TO PEOPLE will have distribution Thursday at the grange building on the Fayette County Fairgrounds. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 11:30 a.m. Distribution takes place from 10 a.m. to noon. There is no proof of income needed for the distribution. However, eligibility for the program is self-declared and is based on residents of a household receiving unemployment compensation, food stamps, cash or medical assistance, those experiencing a crisis situation or those whose household income is equal to or less than 150 percent of the poverty level. Those wishing to receive a passcard, to speed up the distribution process, should bring a copy of a utility bill with their name and address on it. HAZEL G. CLUSS CIRCLE OF ASBURY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH will meet at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. The program will be “Seeing the Power of the Sisterhood” presented by Mary Margaret LaCava. Lunch will follow at the Sun Porch.
