Brownfield
Robert and Janis (Zihar) Brownfield recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married on June 15, 1963, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Brownsville.
Bob grew up in Tower Hill No.2, and Janis grew up in LaBelle. They relocated to the Washington, D.C., area (Fairfax Station, VA) in the 1960’s where they raised their two daughters, Melissa (Dan) Bradley and Melanie Brownfield, both of whom now reside in Plain City, OH.
They are the loving and devoted Granddaddy and Mimi to Brooke, Blaire and Brenna Bradley and Gavin VonSchriltz.
They currently reside in Plain City, OH, near their daughters and grandchildren, as well as Myrtle Beach, SC.
Mr. Brownfield retired from Computer Sciences Corporation after a long career with the Department of Defense and the U.S. State Department. Mrs. Brownfield retired from the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA).
Bob is active with the local township zoning office and the Plain City Lions Club. Janis is active in the St. Martin de Porres ministry. They are parishioners at St. Joseph Church in Plain City, OH, and enjoy spending time with friends and family.
They are two of the most selfless people you would ever meet and are always there with a supportive hug, words of wisdom, a strong back and Jan’s famous ham sandwich!
They celebrated this milestone anniversary with a surprise party on June 15, hosted by their daughters, at the Waterbridge Country Club in Myrtle Beach, SC, surrounded by family and friends.
