GEORGES TOWNSHIP HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1948 will celebrate their 65th reunion at 4 p.m. Saturday at Denny’s Restaurant.
CHRIST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH will have a free community meal from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the church located on the corner of Beeson and Fayette streets in Uniontown. A free community meal is given every third Sunday of the month as part of the Nurture and Outreach Ministry.
FAMILY FUN FEST will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Fayette County Fairgrounds, Dunbar. Admission is free and the event will be held rain or shine. Food, music, games, activities and more will be available. For more information, go online to www.facebook.com/familyfunfest.
FRIENDS OF FLENNIKEN LIBRARY are currently looking for sponsors for their third annual golf outing scheduled for 9 a.m. Aug. 3 at the Carmichaels Golf Course. THE REV. DR. ROGER RAYMOND FISCHER, who has been serving St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church and Hopewell Presbyterian Church, both in Brownsville, will walk from Hopewell Presbyterian to St. Andrews Lutheran and to his home in Washington, a distance of 30 miles, beginning 8 a.m. Saturday. Fischer is inviting people to walk with him on this journey which will take approximately 11 or 12 hours, with a lunch stop in Centerville. JOINT FLAG DAY CELEBRATION hosted by Phoebe Bayard Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution of Greensburg and the General Arthur St. Clair Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution of Fayette and Westmoreland Counties will be held noon Saturday at the Bishop Connare Center, Greensburg. The guest speaker will be State Senator Kim Ward of Westmoreland County. Reservations are required.
