Reminders
May 19 — German-Masontown Crop Walk. Registration at 12:45 p.m. and walk will start at 1:30 p.m. at German-Masontown Park. For more information or to pick up donation materials, call 724-583-7073.
May 25 and 26 — 34th annual Albert Gallatin Regatta, starting at 10 a.m., Point Marion Community Park. Activities include a patriotic tribute to area veterans at Evergreen Cemetery and fireworks display.
June 9 — All Saints Church’s graduate’s Mass, noon. All high school or college graduates who are members of the parish are invited to participate. Light refreshments will be served in the school cafeteria following the Mass.
AG Class of 1973
June 22 — Albert Gallatin Class of 1973 is currently planning its 40th reunion for 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 22, at Dolfi’s Restaurant in Masontown. Community Kitchen
Tuesday — Masontown Community Kitchen meal, 4 to 6:30 p.m., First Presbyterian Church, 102 W. Church Ave. The menu will be chicken sandwiches, pasta salad, Panera breads and desserts. The kitchen is funded through contributions collected from those attending meals and by the local churches and individuals who donated to the mission. Anyone wanting more information or to volunteer at the soup kitchen can call Kathy West at 724-583-9514 or Judy Julian at 724-943-3013.
Stepping Forward
May 21 — Smithfield Stepping Forward Election Day bake sale, 8 a.m. at the Smithfield voting site, the Smithfield Community Center, Water Street. Anyone who plans to donate baked items can bring them to the center on May 20. For more information, call 724-569-9601.
Friends of the library
Wednesday — Friends of the German-Masontown Library meeting, 1 p.m., library’s conference room. Anyone interested in becoming a friend of the library or learning more about the organization is welcome to attend. After the meeting, refreshments will be served by Aretta and Sue Ansel and Anita Nolle. Payment for Friends of the German-Masontown Library T-shirts is due by this meeting.
