COLONEL ANDREW LYNN CHAPTER, DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION will meet noon Saturday to carpool to Scottdale, where they will have lunch at Martha’s Tea Room and then tour the West Overton Museum.
FLENNIKEN PUBLIC LIBRARY’S BOARD OF TRUSTEES will host its annual fall wine-tasting gala Oct. 19 at the Carmichaels Firemen’s Social Hall. The event will feature four local wineries, dinner, entertainment, a Chinese auction and more. For tickets, call the library at 724-966-5263.
GEIBEL CATHOLIC’S VOLLEYBALL PROGRAM will host a spaghetti dinner noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Geibel Catholic Cafeteria. The menu will feature pasta, meatballs, salad, breadsticks and desserts. GENEALOGY SOCIETY OF SOUTHWESTERN PENNSYLVANIA will present “Ins and Outs” of Genealogy research 2 p.m. Saturday at Citizen’s Library, 55 College St., Washington. The genealogy society, along with some members of the Peters Township Library Group, will present information on beginning genealogy as well as topics for the seasoned researcher along with a question-and-answer time.
INDIAN CREEK VALLEY LIONS CLUB will sponsor their all-you-can-eat pancake/buckwheat cake dinner and flea market 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Indian Creek Valley Community Center, Route 711, Indian Head. To reserve a table to sell at the flea market, call Greg at 724-455-2452.

WOMEN’S ASSOCIATION OF SPRINGHILL FURNACE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH will hold its annual holiday bazaar and bake sale 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Oct. 12 at the church, 2459 Springhill Furnace Road. Handmade afghans, knitted scarves and gloves, holiday wreaths and ornaments are among the items for sale. Lunch will also be available for purchase. All proceeds are donated to various worldwide missions.
