SMITHFIELD VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT will celebrate 75 years of service from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday at the department. The day will begin with an opening ceremony at 11 a.m., followed with a Pickle Radio live radio broadcast from noon to 2 p.m., a parade at 4 p.m., street fair games and prizes, raffles, live music performed by the band Abilene, a fireworks display and food from 8-11 p.m.
FAYETTE COUNTY HEALTHCHOICES ADVISORY BOARD will meet at 5 p.m. Wednesday in Conference Room 1 (first floor) at the Fayette County Behavioral Health Administration Office, 215 Jacob Murphy Lane, Uniontown. The meeting is open to the public.
PENN STATE EXTENSION IN FAYETTE COUNTY is accepting applications for the 2014 Penn State Master Gardener program. There will be an information meeting about the program at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the extension office, 34 W. Peter St., Uniontown. Contact the office for an application. HOSPITAL CLUB OF CONNELLSVILLE will meet at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday in the Highlands Hospital Dining Room.
JEFFERSON CATHOLIC CLUB OF ST. JOHN EVANGELIST CHURCH will meet at the different time of 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Uniontown Public Library. All members are asked to bring a wrapped gift, a favorite dessert or appetizer and a table service for refreshments.
GERMAN TOWNSHIP CLASS OF 1959 will hold its monthly luncheon noon Tuesday, Bogey’s Restaurant, Duck Hollow Golf Course. All classmates, their spouses, family members and friends are welcome.
