UNITED WAR VETERANS OF FAYETTE COUNTY will meet 1 p.m. Saturday at the North Union Veterans of Foreign Wars.
BROWNSVILLE DEMOCRAT WOMEN will have their next regular monthly meeting 5:30 p.m. Sept. 17 at Hugo’s Restaurant, 687 National Pike West, Brownsville.
PA STATE POLICE will hold a car-seat safety check 3-7 p.m. Monday at the Uniontown WalMart Store, 355 WalMart Drive, Uniontown. For more information, call Trooper Plume at 724-415-1000.
MAPLETOWN UNITED METHODIST CHURCH will host a chicken roast 12:30-5 p.m. Sunday. Dinner will include a half chicken, two sides, a roll and cookies. For more information, call 724-943-3219. Proceeds will benefit the Mapletown/ Mt. Pleasant Youth Group.
NEW SALEM NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH will have a meeting 6 p.m. Monday in the New Salem Presbyterian Church social room. Plans for the upcoming light-up night will be discussed.
The group will also have a hoagie sale Sept. 14 at the main intersection in town.
GREENE COUNTY POMONA GRANGE will have a covered dish after its meeting at 3 p.m. Saturday at East Franklin Grange Hall. East Franklin is providing the dinner, and Harvey’s/Aleppo, Carmichaels and New Freedom are to provide the desserts.
