Guritza
Peter and Edna Guritza of Greensboro celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on May 1. They were married on May 1, 1954, at St. Ignatius R. C. Church in Bobtown by the Rev. Louis Minewiser.
Edna is the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Cech of Bobtown and is a homemaker. Peter is the son of the late John and Mary Guritza of Greensboro. He retired in 1991 from the former Duquesne Light Company in Greensboro with 44 years of service. He also served with the U.S. Army at Bremerhaven, Germany.
They are the proud parents of two sons: Michael and his wife Sandi of Greensboro and Peter Guritza Jr. of Richmond, Va., Peter and Edna are the grandparents of Brian Guritza of Pittsburgh, who is attending The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, and Kristi Guritza, who is attending Thiel College in Greenville, and a deceased grandson David Michael Guritza.
A mass for our intentions was celebrated by Rev. John Bauer at St. Hugh’s R. C. Church in Carmichaels on May 3. He gave the couple a special blessing. A family dinner followed at the Olive Garden Restaurant in Uniontown.
