n Holiday tours of six historic homes in Brownsville and Christ Church, 5-9 p.m. Saturday and 2-6 p.m. Dec. 7. Houses include a collection of 19th century homes built by some of Brownsville’s wealthiest businessmen whose lifestyles are reflected in the rich finishes and architectural accoutrements of their residents. Tickets for this self-guided tour are $15 a person and will be sold at Brownsville Fire Company 1, 520 Market St., Brownsville. The tour is sponsored by the Northside Beautification Committee, which uses proceeds from its fundraisers for neighborhood enhancements, such as street banners and flower planters.
n Sixth annual Fayette County Community Action Agency Magic and Mistletoe, 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Fayette County Courthouse. The event will feature festive refreshments, horse-drawn carriage rides, visit with Santa Claus, silent and Chinese auctions, kid’s craft, photo booth, hot chocolate bar, performances by the Morgantown Ballet Company, Third Presbyterian Bell Choir and Harpist, Bruderhof Community Singers and more. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door and children under 10 are free. n Annual Christmas remembrance service, 5 p.m. Dec. 7, John S. Maykuth Jr. Funeral Home, Masontown. This special service is for families of those who have lost a loved one during the past year. Since the first year following the death of a loved one is perhaps the most difficult, a Christmas Tree of Remembrance will be displayed in the main hallway adorned with a dove in memory of each person who has died since Christmas 2013. Complimentary angels and candles will be available to place in their home following the ceremony. Father William G. Berkey will deliver the Eulogy and the Rev. Randy Byers the Invocation and Benediction. There will also be Christmas carols by the St. Francis of Assisi Parish Choir directed by Elaine Kovak.

n “Homes for the Holidays” house tour, 1 p.m. Dec. 14. Numerous private homes decorated for the Christmas season will welcome guests on a tour including “Christmas at the Stable.” The event will feature complimentary horse carriage rides and refreshments, holiday carols sung by a local vocalist, Chinese auction items and a visit by Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus. The Crime Victims’ Center (CVC) of Fayette County will sponsor the event.
