Bethany and John Connors of Hopwood and Richard Whitworth, Jr. of Connellsville are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Iris Whitworth, to Ellen Kitzerow.

Ellen is the daughter of Dr. Phyllis Kitzerow and the Honorable Eugene B. Strassburger, III.

Ellen is an analyst for Allegheny County’s Department of Human Services and holds a B.A. from Boston University and an M.A. from the Heinz College at Carnegie Mellon University.

Iris is the Executive Director of a community economic development organization serving the needs of seven municipalities along the Allegheny River. She has a B.A. from Chatham College and an M.A. from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs.

The couple resides in Wilkinsburg and will be married in Pittsburgh along the Allegheny River surrounded by family and friends in September of 2015.
