Senior LIFE Uniontown Celebrates Annual LIFE Week
Senior LIFE Uniontown will celebrate LIFE Week September 1st through the 4th at the Senior LIFE Center located 89 W. Fayette Street Uniontown, PA 15401. Senior LIFE Uniontown is a nursing home alternative. It is part of the national Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), called LIFE in Pennsylvania.
“We look forward to celebrating as we continue to expand our services to better serve the community,” says executive director Natalie Martin. “This year, every day will have themes that also recognize specific departments and how much they contribute to our members’ safety, health, and wellbeing.”
Staff and senior participants are looking forward to this year’s LIFE Week celebration which will include a decades day, a super hero day, ethnicity day, and favorite sports team day. Some notable activities will include head bowling, a wheelchair race, contests, and balloon bumps. Each day’s theme will also include live entertainment, food and snacks, different types of contests, and plenty of prizes for both members and staff.
The LIFE program is funded by Medicare. It brings together a coordinated team of doctors, nurses, social workers and therapists to provide seniors with an individualized care plan and coordinated health and personal care services that address their unique medical care and social needs. The services are provided both in the Life Center and in the participant’s home. These critical support services allow eligible seniors to remain independent and live in their home and community. There is no cost for the services for those who qualify.
