South Union approves planning module for Harbor Freight

By The 1 min read

The South Union Township supervisors approved the sewage planning module for a Harbor Freight and office space at the site of the old Walmart in Cherry Tree Square.

Supervisors approved the module, which must be approved by the state Department of Environmental Protection, last week.

In addition, developers are preparing plans for a grocery store on the same property, Supervisor Robert Schiffbauer said. Preliminary plans are expected soon, he said.

A subdivision for a 10 residential lots on property located across Route 40 from the Dollar General in Hopwood is planned, Schiffbauer said.

The supervisors also agreed to conduct a children’s golf camp with Uniontown Country Club at the club, he said. The camp is tentatively scheduled to start in mid-August, but a specific date hasn’t been set. There will be a fee to register, he said.
