Detweiler – Crowell

Jayme Lynn Detweiler and Ryan Scott Crowell were united in marriage at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Uniontown May 30, 2015. Father Bob Lubic officiated the ceremony, and the bride was given in marriage by her parents.
The bride is the daughter of Mark and Anne (Schilling) Detweiler of Uniontown and the granddaughter of Berwyn and Lois Detweiler of Uniontown and the late Max and Anna Mary Schilling of Connellsville. The groom is the son of Barry and Marcie Crowell of Salem, Ohio, and the grandson of Gary and Wilma Moffett of Salem, Ohio, and the late James and Jean Crowell of Lisbon, Ohio.
Serving as maid of honor was Kaitlyn Pieri of Dunlevy and matron of honor was Chelsea (Garlick) Pellish of Connellsville, both friends of the bride from Geibel Catholic High School. Bridesmaids included: Katie McCann, cousin of the bride; Lauren Crowell, sister of the groom; Kelly (Krieger) Kavlick; Jessica Michael; Shay Cain and Kelsey (Busser) Guyer; all sorority sisters and friends from college of the bride. Parker Hidock, cousin of the bride, and Hannah and Hailey Moffett, cousins of the groom, served as flower girls.
Best man was Cody Horstman of Worthington, Ohio, fraternity brother of the groom. Groomsmen were: Dayne Detweiler, brother of the bride; Andy Loudon, friend of the groom from high school; and Taylor Cain, Sean Kavlick, and Ryan Patingale; all college friends and fraternity brothers of the groom.
The couple and bridal party had their photos taken at the view at Kentuck Knob before heading to the Summit Inn veranda to join guests for cocktail hour. The reception began shortly after in the Edison Ballroom at the Historic Summit Inn.
The bride’s dress was created by Australian designer Sarah Janks. The sheer, tulle overlay and sleek slip included a V-neckline and illusion open back. Cinched at the waist with a grosgrain sash tipped with sparking appliqué, the wedding gown’s bodice gave way to a fluted godet skirt and petite train.
The men wore dark navy Michael Kor’s fitted tuxedos rented from Ptak’s. The bridesmaids wore mint tulle long dresses that included an illusion neckline.
Soft, romantic, pastel, vintage garden-themed florals were provided by Lauren Work Phillips of The Farmer’s Daughter and included succulents, peonies, garden roses and lambs ear. The bride’s mother, owner of Pepperberries Shop in Uniontown, created the floral arrangements for the reception.
The bride’s grandparents, Berwyn and Lois Detweiler, had their reception at the Summit Inn almost 64 years ago to the day of the wedding. They enjoyed recreating memories on the dance floor with the newlyweds.
Jayme works remotely as the social media manager and alumni magazine associate editor for Delta Gamma Fraternity headquarters located in Columbus, Ohio. Ryan is a CPA for Hack, Steer & Company accounting firm in Salem, Ohio.
The couple celebrated their marriage on a honeymoon that began with several days in Venice, Italy, and then embarked on a 7-day Mediterranean cruise which included stops in Croatia, Greece and Turkey. Upon returning from their honeymoon, they began moving into their new home in Canfield, Ohio.
