West Virginia man dies following Carroll Township accident

A West Virginia man died following a vehicle accident in Washington County on Saturday according to Coroner S. Timothy Warco.

Scott Henry McClure of Nettie, West Virginia, was pronounced dead at 4:51 p.m. at Monongahela Valley Hospital.

According to Warco, McClure had been working at a gas well site when he began experiencing cardiac symptoms and attempted to drive himself to the hospital.

In a news release Warco stated that McClure was involved in an accident on the way to the hospital around 3:45 p.m., going off the road and through several yards in Carroll Township. He was then taken by ambulance to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

While the cause and manner of death are pending, Warco stated that he believes the accident was related to a medical event.

Carroll Township police are investigating.
