Give-A-Christmas fund breaks $8,000 mark
Total: $8,019.85
Goal: $25,000
Herald-Standard readers contributed another $225 to the Give-A-Christmas campaign, breaking the $8,000 mark as the total for the fund that benefits the Salvation Army now stands at $8,019.85.
“That’s great!” said Sparkle, the Christmas star, who is the official mascot for the campaign. “Let’s keep it going. We want to raise $25,000 to benefit the Salvation Army in our readership area, and I’m sure we’re going to see more donations coming in this week.”
The latest donations include Redstone Class of 1954, Wednesday Ladies Golf League at Springdale, Joyce John of Uniontown and Glenn and Sherry Bryner of Lemont Furnace, who gave “in honor of our grandchildren Ben and Cheyenne Jordan.”
“Thanks so much for all these donations and everyone who has contributed to the campaign so far,” said Sparkle. “Please, let’s keep it moving so we can reach our goal!”
Donations can be sent to Give-A-Christmas, c/o Herald-Standard, 8-18 E. Church St., Uniontown, PA 15401 or dropped off at the Herald-Standard office during business hours.
Donations will continue to be taken until 5 p.m. Dec. 22, and the final amount collected will be announced in the Christmas Day edition of the Herald-Standard.
