Give-A-Christmas still under $11,000 mark
Total: $10,796.15
Goal: $25,000
Herald-Standard readers contributed another $150 to Give-A-Christmas, the holiday fund that benefits the Salvation Army. The new total is $10,796.15.
“I’m so glad that people are continuing to contribute to the fund and we want to thank all our donors,” said Sparkle, the Christmas star who is the official mascot for the campaign. “But remember that we want to raise $25,000 for the Salvation Army in our area and we only have a short time to do it.”
The latest donors include Cheryl Arshen of Uniontown, who sent a nice note: “Hope you reach your goal,” and gave “in memory of my beloved husband, Bill Arshen, who passed way four years ago and all other deceased family members.”
Other donors include Earlene Budner and family, of Hopwood, who gave in memory of Robert A. Provance; and Bill and Mary Joy of Uniontown.
“Thank you so much for your generous donations,” said Sparkle. “We appreciate all of them. “
But she noted the campaign only lasts until 5 p.m. on Dec. 22.
“We could really use your help to reach our $25,000 goal,” Sparkle said.
Donations can be sent to Give-A-Christmas, 8-18 East Church St., Uniontown, PA 15401 or brought to the Herald-Standard office week days during business hours.
Donations will be accepted until 5 p.m. Dec. 22. The final amount collected will be reported in the Christmas Day edition of the Herald-Standard.
