By The 1 min read

The Redstone Township supervisors adopted a 2017 budget that does not include a tax increase.

The real estate tax rate will remain at 1.153 mills.

Supervisors unanimously voted in favor of the budget, which includes a general fund with $1.47 million in revenue and $1.45 million in expenses.

The state fund has $434,327 in revenue and $372,500 in expenses and the Act 13 fund has $1 million in revenue and $397,675 in expenses.

Michael Cetera, chairman of the board of supervisors, reminded residents that Fayette Waste will be the new trash collector beginning Jan. 1 and the pick-up schedule will remain the same except for the Chestnut Ridge area, which will be picked up on Wednesdays. Fayette Waste will send letters notifying residents of the changes.

Recyclable materials, which are newsprint and bi-metal cans, must be dropped off at the recycling building adjacent to the municipal building.

Cetera also said the township has 250 tons of road salt for the start of winter.
