Dzul-Church – Bokoch

Drs. Virginia Esther Dzul-Church and Michael Paul Bokoch were united in marriage at Hacienda de las Flores in Moraga, Calif., on May 24. The Rev. Denah Joseph officiated the ceremony, and the bride was given in marriage by her mother. Music for the ceremony was provided by Ms. Risman (soprano), Dr. Carlson (fiddle) and Mr. Dzul (guitar).

The rehearsal dinner was held outdoors at Moraga Commons Park the day before the wedding.

The bride is the daughter of Susan Church Tajima of Moraga, Calif., and the late David Abner Dzul Gongora of Merida, Yucatan, Mexico.

The groom is the son of Judy Bokoch, originally of Dunbar and now residing in Foster City, Calif., and Gregory (Phil) Bokoch of Uniontown. Phil Bokoch was accompanied by his wife, Diana, also of Uniontown.

Serving as matron of honor was Dr. Robin Tittle, along with bridesmaids, Dr. Charlotte Carlson and Dr. Jolene Collins, who were all friends of the bride from University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine. The bridesmaids also included Daniella Risman of Brooklyn, N.Y.; the bride’s best friend from high school, and the bride’s sisters, Adia and Claire Tajima. Asha Jain, daughter of Drs. Sharad Jain and Rachel Lucatorto, friends and mentors of the bride, served as flower girl.

Dr. Matthew Bucknor of San Francisco, Calif., best friend of the groom from Stanford University School of Medicine, was best man. The groomsmen were Gregory P. Bokoch Jr. of Uniontown, brother of the groom and residing in Columbus, Ohio; Drs. Pavan Bachireddy and Paul Hoover of Boston, Mass.; Dr. Seunggu Han of San Francisco, Calif., and David Caleb Dzul, brother of the bride.

The bride is a graduate of University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine and is currently a practicing geriatrician and palliative medicine physician at On Lok Lifeways in San Francisco, Calif.

Dr. Bokoch graduated from Connellsville Area High School in 1999. He is a graduate of Stanford University School of Medicine and is completing residency in anesthesiology and will continue with a fellowship in liver transplant anesthesia at University of California, San Francisco, in 2016.

The couple plans to celebrate their honeymoon in the summer of 2016 with a trip to Scandinavia.
