The Pennsylvania Lottery is announcing one Cash 5 ticket worth $1 million from the Feb. 27 drawing was purchased at Giant Eagle in West Newton.

No one has come forward yet to claim the prize.

“I still see it on the unclaimed list,” Gary Miller, a spokesman for the Pennsylvania Lottery at headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County, said Thursday. “They do have one full year to claim the prize.”

Miller advised the ticket holder “to sign the ticket and keep it in a safe place.”

The winning ticket correctly matched all five numbers drawn — 04, 08, 20, 27 and 37. The prize is $1 million, less taxes. The retailer will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Mike Bingey, owner of the Giant Eagle at 105 Robertson St., said, “That’s our third million-dollar winner. We had a $2 million, $1 million and now this one. We also had a $700,000 and a $50,000 winners. A few years back, we had a $250,000 ticket win. Someone bought it and never redeemed it.”

Selling winning tickets makes for good feelings.

Bingey said, It’s a little town so it creates a lot of excitement.”

A news release from the lottery explained the holder of the Feb. 27 Cash 5 winning ticket should call the lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim at Lottery headquarters or any of the Lottery’s seven area offices.

Miller said the closest office is in Pittsburgh at 1424 Western Avenue on the North Side.

The news release noted claims may be filed Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at area offices and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at headquarters.

“More than 84,500 other Cash 5 tickets won prizes of various amounts in the drawing, creating “Winners, winners — everywhere!”‘ the release noted. “Players should check every ticket, every time, and immediately sign winning tickets. Lower-tier winners may be claimed at a Lottery retailer.”

In the 2014-15 fiscal year, the release reported, the lottery awarded more than $84.6 million in prizes in Westmoreland County and contributed more than $39.6 million to programs serving the county’s older residents.
