Give-A-Christmas gains additional support
Total: $2417.89
Goal: $25,000
Thanks to additional reader donations, the Herald-Standard Give-A-Christmas campaign is one step closer to its goal.
“It’s wonderful to see the generosity of those in our community,” said Sparkle the Christmas star, who serves as the campaign mascot. “Our goal of $25,000 to help the Salvation Army this holiday season is within reach!”
Sparkle reminded readers that donations can be dropped off at the Herald-Standard office in Uniontown, and can also be sent via mail.
“Our Herald-Standard employees will also take turns ringing our Christmas bell from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Dec. 9 at the Uniontown Wal-Mart,” Sparkles said. Donors will also receive a free copy of the newspaper.
The latest donations to the Give-A-Christmas campaign included a monetary gift from Abundant Life Church of Uniontown.
Central Christian Church also donated, in addition to Wanda Galie of Smock.
“We thank all of those who donated such generous gifts,” Sparkle said.
Donations will be collected until 5 p.m. Dec. 22. The final total will be announced in the Christmas Day edition.
Contributions may be mailed to Give-A-Christmas, in care of the Herald-Standard, 8-18 East Church St., Uniontown, PA 15401 or brought to the Herald-Standard office weekdays during business hours.
