Give-A-Christmas collection remains below $4,000 mark
Total: $3,629.85
Goal: $25,000
The 2016 Give-A-Christmas fund remains at $3,629.85 as the campaign waits for new donations.
“I’m really hoping we can reach our goal of raising $25,000 to benefit the Salvation Army,” said Sparkle, the Christmas star, who is the official mascot for the campaign. “I’m sure there are donations already on their way to the Herald-Standard office, thanks to our generous readers who are so quick to help their neighbors. But, if you haven’t made a donation to the campaign yet, we could really use your help.”
Readers can participate by sending donations through the mail or dropping them off at the Herald-Standard office. Contributions can be mailed to Give-A-Christmas, 8-18 E. Church St., Uniontown, PA 15401 or brought to the Herald-Standard office during business hours.
Sparkle is also reminding readers that Herald-Standard employees will turn out for a collection for Give-A-Christmas from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 9 at Uniontown Wal-Mart. Donors will be given copies of the Herald-Standard.
“I hope you’ll stop by and see the employees and contribute to the cause,” said Sparkle.
The final amount raised by the campaign will be announced in the Christmas Day edition.
