Cal U to hold 29th annual health fair

California University of Pennsylvania’s 29th annual health fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Convocation Center.

The fair is coordinated by the university’s Health and Wellness Education Center.

The event is free and open to the public as well as the campus community.

More than 40 health care industry representatives will staff booths on subjects such as diabetes, smoking cessation, orthopedics and healthy eating among others.

Central Blood Bank will conduct a blood drive during the event. Rite-Aid pharmacy staff will administer flu shots. The cost is $31.99, and insurance will be accepted.

Cal U’s Health Education Awareness Resource Team (HEART) will hand out free sunglasses, megaphones and cellphone covers during the event.

Bottled water and healthy snack packs will be given away throughout the day.

Hear Tonight, an indie rock band featuring Cal U students, will perform in the Convocation Center courtyard.

The fair will also include temporary-tattoo artists and caricature artists.
