2017 Give-A-Christmas campaign that benefits Salvation Army announces total

The Herald-Standard’s 2017 Give-A-Christmas campaign has closed, raising $14,821.24 for the Salvation Army through donations by generous readers.

“Thank you, thank you so much to everyone who participated,” said Sparkle, the Christmas star, who serves as campaign mascot. “We really appreciate everyone who made donations, those who came up with fundraisers, and those who stood out in the cold to ring bells as they collected donations.”

Sparkle continued, “Remember that all this money goes to the Salvation Army in the Herald-Standard readership area, staying in local communities so that neighbors are helping neighbors. We appreciate the generosity of our readers, who are so quick to show the Christmas spirit and are so kind to others.”
