Mount Pleasant supervisors issue summer reminders
MOUNT PLEASANT TWP. — With summer officially starting, township supervisors had several reminders for residents.
Chairman Duane Hutter asked residents to make sure they are cutting their grass a keeping their properties maintained. Secretary Caprice Mills said there is a nuisance ordinance in the municipality that requires residents to maintain their property to meet certain standards.
“If their grass is 10 inches or greater with in 50 feet of a residential structure they are in violation,” Mills said.
Supervisor Jack Rutkowski reminded residents that burning is only permitted between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Rutkowski also said tarring and chipping will begin on July 17 and asked residents to not park on the roads where work would be done. Vice Chairman Frank Puskar said a list of most of the roads that will be tarred and chipped will be listed on the municipality’s website, www.mtpleasanttwp.com, by the first part of July.
Puskar and the other supervisors offered their congratulations to the Mount Pleasant Area High School boys’ baseball and girls’ softball teams on a successful season.
In other business, the board gave final, conditional approval to Acme DPP, LLC Subdivision and Land Development Plan located along Route 31. Hutter said the approval is for a new Dollar General store in the Acme area of the township beside Browns Saw Shop.
