Homecoming week
California University of Pennsylvania will hold its annual homecoming celebration this week, concluding with Homecoming Day on Saturday. The theme is “Disney.” To view a list of scheduled events and parking/transportation information, visit online at www.calu.edu.
Meeting scheduled
Community Connections, an educational cooperative initiative among Fayette County school districts and New Directions Counseling Services, will meet from 6-7:30 p.m., Oct. 17, at New Directions, located at 125 Chaffee St. Ext. in Uniontown.
Representatives from local school districts, the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation and the Fayette County Behavioral Health Administration Department of Developmental Programs will present information on the transition process and coordination of services for students with disabilities. Parents, teachers, paraprofessionals and community members are invited to attend.
Fair set
California University of Pennsylvania’s Government Agency Coordination Office (GACO) will hold its 30th annual Procurement Opportunities Fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 25 at the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Washington, Pa.
The fair focuses on providing companies with contracting and subcontracting information and will feature government agencies, corporations, regional service organizations and area businesses. Businesses interested in selling their products or services to federal, state and local government agencies and prime contractors are encouraged to attend.

Presentation slated
The Outreach & Continuing Education department at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus will hold an educational presentation on the opioid epidemic at 6 p.m. Oct. 30 in the campus Community Center.
