Charleroi schools get excellent water quality report
Charleroi Area School District has met rigorous standards to ensure it has safe drinking water.
According to Superintendent Ed Zelich, the West Virginia University Water Research Institute recently tested the district’s drinking water and found it to be free of lead and other harmful particles.
“We are committed to ensuring that our students, teachers and staff have the highest quality drinking water,” said Dr. Zelich, during the school board’s monthly meeting Tuesday evening. He noted that the comprehensive water study took place in September and also involved help from the Authority of the Borough of Charleroi.
During the meeting, Zelich also told board members that a group of students is working with State Rep. Bud Cook to create a brochure and video to promote Charleroi Area School District. The students plan to make a presentation in Harrisburg next spring.
