City-wide cleanup to be held for Uniontown residents
Uniontown residents will have a city-wide cleanup at their disposal Saturday.
A cleanup organized by the city and the Uniontown Redevelopment Authority will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with Dumpsters to be located at the city sewage plant on Romeo Lane next to 84 Lumber.
Proof of city residence will be required to drop off items.
All volunteers are welcome, and gloves, garbage bags and refreshments will be provided.
“At the end of the day, the gate will be locked,” Uniontown Redevelopment Authority Executive Director Mark Rafail said upon announcing the event at an authority meeting last month.
“Hard to recycle” items such as electronics, appliances, tires, paint, household chemicals, kerosene and oils will not be accepted.
Assisting the city and the redevelopment authority in holding the event are Faith Assembly of God, the Uniontown Concerned Citizens Association, East End United Community Center, Advanced Disposal, Uniontown Hospital and Neighborhood Partnership Program.
